OUR STORY
- est. 1971 -
Established in 1971, we moved to the Dales in 1978. With the help of their daughter, Rachel, Mick & Jen built this unique artisan candle company, known for our quality and range of candles. In recent years, Mick & Jen have trained the next generation of White Rose Candlemakers, who now handle the day-to-day operations here in Wensley.

Today, White Rose Candles is co-owned and managed by Jane and Sandra, who welcome you to our beautiful traditional workshop in a historic 19th-century water mill. You can see us making candles by hand using traditional dipping and casting methods, and browse our unique range of artisan candles. We also feature candle holders and ceramics made by local Dales artists!
We are dog friendly!
Here at White Rose Candles, we want every member of your family to feel welcome. That's why we've made our Wensley site a dog-friendly store!
Our team mascot Margot is now mostly retired, spending the majority of her day relaxing at home, surrounded by cats. She does make sure we keep a supply of treats for any doggy visitors. Including the finest treats from our friends at Skippers Pet Products. As well as treats there are unlimited cuddles from our animal-loving team!
